DUSHANBE, April 21, Asia-Plus — Chief of Tajikistan Customs Service Gurez Zaripov has been elected to head a public-consultative council set up within the Service, Asia-Plus has learned from Abdurasoul Sharirov, a spokesman for the customs service.
An appropriate resolution on the establishment of the public-consultative council within the Customs Service was passed on April 18, following a meeting of senior representatives of relevant ministries and organizations with representative of the country’s business circles in Dushanbe.
The public-consultative council, numbering 37 members, is aimed at improving Tajikistan’s customs service as well as support local exporters and promoting expanding cooperation of customs services with business-structures and border guards.
The council members include representatives from the customs service, relevant ministries and organizations, chamber of commerce and industry, as well as business community.
