Skiing resort Safedorak expected to be privatized

DUSHANBE, November 16, 2015, Asia-Plus —  The Safedorak skiing resort, which is located in the Varzob district, 70 kilometers north of Dushanbe, is expected to be privatized.

The  State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) has announced an open tender for sale of the tourist and skiing complex Safedorak.

An official source at GosKomInvest says the starting price for the complex is 1.92 million somoni (equivalent to nearly 290,000 U.S. dollars at the current official exchange rate).

According to him, the tender will be held n two stages and the tender results will be announced on December 14, 2015.

The Safedorak skiing resort was officially opened in 1976.

We will recall that Tajikistan in November 2013 asked Qatari companies to rehabilitate the Safedorak complex.
