DUSHANBE, February 29, 2016, Asia-Plus — The maiden meeting of the Club of Young Intellectuals from the CIS member nations is kicking off in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, today.

According to Armenian media outlet

, this two-day meeting aims to help shape up discussion platforms for the development of professional communication among young professionals in the humanities from Russia and several other former Soviet republics making the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The event has reportedly brought together young political scientists, historians, sociologists, journalists and experts in the field of international relations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.

The project is a joint effort of the Russian Political Science Center “North-South” for the development of information and scientific ties with foreign countries and  the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member states.

The next meetings of the Club will be hosted by Azerbaijan, Russia and Kazakhstan.
