DUSHANBE, May 16, 2016, Asia-Plus – Pakistan’s Trade Caravan is expected to reach Tajikistan next week, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
The 4th exhibition of Pakistani goods will take place at Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel from May 24-25.
More than 50 Pakistani companies will put on display their achievements in textile, agriculture, pharmaceutics, food industry, as well as production of building materials and sports products at the upcoming two-day fair, according to the CCI press center.
On the sidelines of the event, a session of representatives of the business communities of the two countries will take place. The forum is expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation agreements between Tajik and Pakistani entrepreneurs, the CCI press center said.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), previously known as the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), initiated the concept of ‘Pakistan Trade Caravan’ in order to increase interaction between the businesspeople of the two countries.
The Trade Caravan initiative is reportedly the first step in the beginning of long-term commercial relations between the two countries, aimed at fostering trade and investment relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
TDAP is the apex agency of the Government of Pakistan engaged in the promotion and growth of the country”s exports. It was established on November 8, 2008, under a Presidential Ordinance, with the Ministry of Commerce as its Administrative Ministry.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Trade Caravan took place in the Kazakh city of Almaty from May 13 to May 15.

(Pakistan), about 45 companies from sectors including textile, agro food, herbal, pharmaceutical and handicrafts displayed their products to members of Kazakh Chambers and businessmen.
During the event, some 300 Kazakh companies reportedly took part in business-to-business sessions with their Pakistani counterparts.
