A Riga-based online newspaper Meduza reports Islamic State (IS) terrorist group yesterday released a video message of a man and stated that he is an officer of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

The man on the video calls himself Eugene Petrenko — freelance 2nd Operational Department of the FSB of Russia in Moscow with the rank of captain.

The man tells the circumstances under which he was detained and where. He only said that he was detained by security service of the Caliphate in the execution of the next job.

In the address, he asks the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the people of Russia and the FSB to "do everything possible" for his release.

He says he is registered in the city of Tsaritsyn, Moscow region, although such a city does not exist (from 1589 to 1925, Volgograd was called Tsaritsyn).

Note that this video is different from other movies of the IS militant group. There are no fighters, although usually similar to the video they appear.  In addition, on the clothes of the men attached a badge with the inscription “Kafir” (unbeliever), even though such stripes for captured militants were not used.  Also usually ISIS prisoners dressed in orange (not black) robes and wore them caps.

The FSB has not yet commented on the information on possible capture of its employee militants.
