DUSHANBE, December 12, Asia-Plus – A two-day meeting of a working group of the Coordination Committee for Combating Drug Trafficking at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) opened in Dushanbe today.
The Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) said that heads of operational units of counternarcotics agencies from member nations of CSTO – Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan – gathered in Dusahnbe to discuss joint efforts to combat drug trafficking, carry out joint operations, as well as prospects of cooperation in exposing organized drug-trafficking groups.
Today, Tajik drug control chief Rustam Nazarov briefed the meeting participants on measures taken by the Tajik government to counter drug trafficking and the present drug situation in Afghanistan
