Director of Qurghon Teppa International Airport, Farhod Abdurashidzoda, has denied reports that the Qurghon Teppa airport allegedly does not work anymore as absolutely “baseless.”
Last week, some media outlets released a report about the closure of the Qurghon Teppa airport.
“The airport works in a routine regime and is ready to receive aircraft,” said Abdurashidzoda. “Just flights from Moscow to Qurghon Teppa have been suspended since July. Since there are no flights, we have decided to put some our workers on an unpaid leave.”
Before July, Russian air carrier VIM Avia operated five flights per week from Moscow to Qurghon Teppa.
“The flights are expected to be resumed in early October” the airport director said.
Qurghon Teppa International Airport is an airport in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province.
