DUSHANBE, November 26, Asia-Plus  — China’s company CMEC China East-resources Import & Export Co. (CERIE) will be engaged in modernization of Dushanbe and Yovon heat stations.   

According to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI), an agreement on reconstruction and modernization of the Dushanbe and Yovon heat stations was signed between a MoEI and CERIE in Dushanbe on November 23.   

The MoEI source said the mentioned stations (both stations have capacity of 200 megawatt each) will be shifted from natural gas to coal with further increase in their capacities by totaling 200 megawatt.   

            The sides now have to conduct feasibility study for shifting the stations from natural gas to coal that will allow reducing expenses on fuel due to use of local resources.   

            Under the agreement Chinese specialists will arrive in Tajikistan to conduct survey and after that technical and economic assessment of reconstruction and modernization of both stations will be conducted.
