DUSHANBE, November 22, Asia-Plus — The Committee for Youth’s Affairs, Sports and Tourism jointly with the ICT (Information Communication Technologies) Center and the Civil Initiative on Internet Policy Public Foundation holds Youth Forum entitled “Digital Tajikistan” on November 23-24 under financial support of the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF).
Ms. Rukhshona Olimova, media program coordinator, Tajik Branch of OSI/AF, told Asia-Plus that the goal of the event is to promote active involvement of creative youth in work to elaborate and select efficient ways of application of information communication technologies for development education and industry subject to national interests.
According to her, more than 80 students and post-graduate students as well as young lecturers from 15 higher educational institutions and special education facilities from all regions of the country will take part in the forum.
“The forum participants will share experiences in use of ICT in their activities,” said Olimova, “The forum will also consider issues related to extending access to education and information resources and developing national content.”
With aid of Tajik internet provider Babilon-T, a vide-conference will be organized with the cities of Khuajnd, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa in order to give youth in the provinces an opportunity to distantly participate in the forum’s work and share their experiences and approaches to tackle arising problems.
The forum will be held at the Oryono Culture Center.
