Only five of Tajik Air’s 35 aircraft reportedly in operating condition

Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, has published press release on the results of work carried out by the company over the first six months of this year.

Over the report period, Tajik Air has carried 159,400 passengers and shipped 460.8 tons of cargo, which was 11,700 passengers and 44.9 tons of cargo more than in the same period last year.

In January-June this year, Tajik national airline has reportedly operated 1,090 flights, 348 of them (31.3 percent) have been delayed.  Bad weather conditions were the main reason for delays, says the press release.

Currently, Tajik Air’s fleet has 35 aircraft, the press release notes, adding that only five of them are in operating conditions, while 29 others are on conservation and one another is on maintenance.

Tajik Air (Tajikistan Airlines) is the national airline of Tajikistan.  It has its head office at Dushanbe International Airport in Dushanbe.  The airline has its main hub at Dushanbe International Airport, and it retains a secondary focus point at Khujand International Airport.
