DUSHANBE, November 3, Asia-Plus  — On Friday November 2, the Education Projects Management Unit (PMU) presented two new educational programs and six textbooks for Tajik-language general schools.

Parviz Sobirov, a spokesman for the PMU, said the new products included textbooks on the Tajik language for the 2nd, 8th, 9th and 11th grades, as well as on the Tajik literature and physics for the 11th grade. 

The textbooks have been published within the framework of the Education Modernization Project and the Catalytic Fund Grant Project, the spokesman said.   

Another component of these projects is to promote improvement education programs on different subjects for both primary and secondary classes,” said Sobirov, “To elaborate these programs special working groups have been set up under support of the Ministry of Education and the National Education Council.”    

These two new educational programs are on the Tajik language and mathematics for primary classes.   

In all, 3.3165 million copies of 44 textbooks for a total amount of more than $36 million have to date been published under these two projects.
