DUSHANBE, September 17, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan has reached 28.3 percent of its national cotton target, having yielded 155,852 tons of raw cotton by September 17, Asia-Plus has learned at the grain and industrial crops department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection (MoAEP).

On Sunday, Tajik cotton farmers produced 10,068 tons of cotton, which is 1.8 percent of the national target that has been determined at 550,000 tons of cotton.   

Cotton farmers in the northern Sughd province have yielded 31,746 tons of cotton by Monday, which is 18.4 percent of their target.  They have pledged to produce 171,300 tons of cotton this year.  

The Khatlon province has reached 34.13 percent of its target, having yielded 112,709 tons of cotton by September 17.  Its target is 330,500 tons. 

Cotton-growing farms in districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) have produced 11,667 tons of cotton by September 17, which is 24.2 percent of the target.  They have pledged to produce 48,200 tons of cotton this year.
