Last month, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan amounted to 325.2 million U.S. dollars, which was 94.5 of the January 2018 level or 19 million U.S. dollars fewer, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The trade balance over the report period was negative and amounted to 193.9 million U.S. dollars.
In January, exports of goods reportedly amounted to 65.7 million U.S. dollars, which was 24.3 percent or 21.1 million U.S. dollars fewer than in the same period last year.
Over the same period, imports of goods into the country amounted to 259.5 million U.S. dollars, which was 0.8 percent or 2.1 million U.S. dollars more than in January last year.
In January, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 77 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.
Last month, the major trading partners of were Tajikistan were Russia (the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia valued at 84.6 million US dollars over the report period), Kazakhstan (60.6 million U.S. dollars) and China (43.4 million U.S. dollars).
