Tacom LTD, which has offered mobile communications services in Tajikistan under the ''Beeline'' brand since September 2006, has announced rebranding of the company.  On June 1, 2019, the company’s brand “Beeline” will be replaced with the brand of ZET Mobile Limited – “ZET-Mobile.”

The key features of the new logotype of the company are dynamics, laconism and leadership, where the color black symbolizes prestige and value, the color orange symbolizes comfort and abundance and the color yellow emphasizes the creativity of employees and warm to subscribers.

Recall, Tacom is licensed to provide cellular communication services in Tajikistan in the GSM-900/1800, UMTS, CDMA-450, LTE and AMPS standards.

On December 27, 2005, VimpelCom (Vimpel-Communications), which operates under the beeline brand, announced the purchase of a 60% stake in Tajik cellular operator Tacom for 12 million U.S. dollars.

On February 27, 2017, VimpelCom Ltd. (NASDAQ: VIP), a leading global provider of telecommunications and digital services, became VEON as it reinvented itself into a global tech company and brought a revolutionary Internet mobile platform to hundreds of millions of customers in the markets of tomorrow.

Headquartered in Amsterdam, VEON serves over 235 million customers worldwide.  VEON is the name for both the company and its new personal internet platform.

VEON that operated the “Beeline” brand in the CIS member nations, announced on April 5, 2018 that its mobile services subsidiary in Tajikistan has been bought by ZET Mobile Limited.

According to press release issued by VEON, divestment of the Beeline is part of company’s strategy on optimization of its telecommunications asset portfolio and withdrawal from markets, where its business is small.  No specific details on the transaction have been disclosed.

VEON is not the first international telecommunications to exit Tajikistan’s market.  In 2017, Sweden-based mobile phone company TeliaSonera sold its 60 percent stake in Tcell to the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), giving the latter whole control over the company.

Like other mobile companies operating in Tajikistan, Beeline has been on the receiving end of some highly aggressive complaints from the Tajik tax authorities.
