DUSHANBE, August 24, Asia-Plus — Turkey’s Guzal intends to invest in construction of residential buildings in Tajikistan, Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) said.

The source at a CCI said that this issue had been discussed in Dushanbe at a meeting of the first deputy CCI head, Odina Sangov, with senior representatives of the company.  Ahmet Ataker (phonetically spelled), Chief Trade Adviser,  Turkish Embassy in Dushanbe, also attended the meeting, according to the source.  

The main purpose of the visit for Guzal’s representatives is to familiarize themselves with economic situation in Tajikistan and get information about the country’s legislation and privileges for investors, and during the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation between Tajik CCI and Guzal.  

In the course of the talks, Sangov briefed Guzal’s representatives on Tajikistan’s macroeconomic indices and the present investment environment in the country as well as Tajik tax and customs laws.

During the meeting, it was noted that more than 30 countries now invest in development of Tajikistan’s economy. The source added that the Turkish side had shown interest in investment in the housing construction in Tajikistan.
