Rouzigul Karimova, the wife of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament) Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, has died suddenly in Dushanbe.

“She died suddenly today morning,” Tajik journalist Rajab Mirzo told Asia-Plus Tuesday (July 2) afternoon.

According to him, she did not have any serious health problems.

Meanwhile, Akhbor.com says Rouzigul Karimova had a sore throat in the last couple of days.  

Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev is currently in Moscow where he is participating in the 2nd International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism.”

Janoza (a funeral service) will take place at Dushanbe Central Mosque tomorrow.  Rouziqul Karimova will be buried in one of Dushanbe’s cemeteries.  

Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev and Rouziqul Karimova have three children – two sons and one daughter.

Their eldest son – Jamoliddin Ubaidulloyev, 39 – serves as Tajikistan’s Ambassador to France and the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to UNESCO.

Their younger son – Amirjon Ubaidullo, 37 – serves as a senior aide to the presidential adviser for economic matters.

According to Akhor.com, their only daughter, Nigina Ubaidulloyeva, who is 30, and her husband have been living for already several years in the United States.
