DUSHANBE, August 21, Asia-Plus — In January-July 2007, Tajikistan has produced a total of 2.9267 billion somonis (equivalent to some $850 million) worth of industrial goods, according to the State Committee for Statistics.
Compared to January-July 2006 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 108.6 percent.
Over the same seven-month period, enterprises of the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced 551.1 million somonis (more than $160 million) worth goods, which is 5.5 percent more than in the same period of last year.
Enterprises subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection (MoAEP) have produced 256.4 million somonis (more than $74.5 million) worth of goods over the report period.
Enterprises that are not subordinate to the ministries and organizations of the country have produced 1.3743 billion somonis (some $400 million) worth of goods in January-July 2007, which is 4 percent more than in the same period of 2006.
Over the report period, of 709 enterprises operating in Tajikistan, 448 enterprises (63.2 percent) have exceeded the January-July 2006 level. .
