DUSHANBE, August 15, Asia-Plus — An authorized capital stock of Tajikistan Development Bank rose 1.7 times in the year to August 1, 2007, reaching 28,755,305 somonis (equivalent to more than $8.3 million), Asia-plus has learned at Tajikistan Development Bank (TDB).

The source at a TDB  said that as of September 19, 2006, when the bank was opened, its authorized capital stock amounted to 5 million US dollars.  

Zarafshon Mardonova, the chairwoman of the TDB marketing department, noted that as of August 1, 2007, the bank has provided loans for a total amount of 18,498,369 somonis (equivalent to some $5.4 million).

“As of August 1, 5,396,950 somonis (more than $1.5 million) have been deposited in the bank,” Mardonova said, adding that more than 393,000 US dollars and some 6 million Russian rubles has been remitted to TDB over the first six months of this year.” 

“Over the same six-month period, more than 162,000 US dollars and some 5 million Russian rubles have been transferred from Tajikistan via our bank,” the TDB official said.
