Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Tajik State University of Economics and Finance has been detained on suspicion of corruption, according to the press center of the Agency for State Finance Control and Combating Corruption under the President of Tajikistan.

The anticorruption agency press center says Emomali Sheraliyev took 19,000 somoni and 600.00 U.S. dollars from citizen “A” promising to take him to university immediately to the second degree course.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Sheraliyev under the provisions of Article 247 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – forgery; an investigation is under way.
