Tajikistan has built one more frontier post on its common border with Afghanistan in Khatlon province.
The new frontier post named Faizobodqala has been built in Panj district, according to the Main Border Guard Directorate of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
“Funded by the national budget, the new frontier post comprises of barracks, officer quarters, training classes, library, sports ground, canteen and bath-house,” Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Ulughkhojayev, a spokesman for the Main Border Guard Directorate, told Asia-Plus today morning.
The Main Border guard Directorate, also called the Border Troops, is the border security force of Tajikistan. The border guards are trained by the Border Troops Academy, a higher education college located in Dushanbe, the OSCE Border Management Staff College and a Border Troops Training Center located in Roudaki district, south of Dushanbe.
