DUSHANBE, June 11, Asia-Plus – A training formally entitled “Control of Precursors and Fight Against Trafficking in Them” for officers from the Tajik law enforcement agencies (drug control agency, ministry of interior, border and customs service) and the Afghan police started at the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe on June 11.

Press service of the Tajik counternarcotics agency said that the main objective of the training, staged by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) under support of the French Embassy in Dushanbe, is to train Tajik and Afghan law enforcement officers in methods to fight trafficking in precursors.

Specialists from the French interior ministry are conducting the training that will last till June 15.

The training organizers hope that such training activities will help officers from relevant services of the neighboring countries establish close contacts in combating drug trafficking.
