DUHANBE, June 11, Asia-Plus — Tajik-Polish joint venture – limited liability company TajPolTex – has launched the second and the third stages of the project for modernization of textile enterprise Bofanda n Dushanbe.  

According to TajPolTex, the first stage of the project has been successfully completed, and due to this, the enterprise is currently capable to process 300 tons of cotton per year.

The second and the third stages include installation of a new Polish equipment for $200,000.  

            According to the ministry of energy and industries (MoEI), this four-staged project to reconstruct the Bofanda enterprise (formerly Tajik-Polish JV TajPolTex) has worked since March 2006 and will be finished in 2008.  

            A total project cost is some $20 million.  After the full reconstruction and modernization, the enterprise will be capable to process 18,000 tons of cotton fiber per year, the source said.  Practically all output manufactured by TajPolTex will be exported to Europe.  

            TajPolTex was established on the basis of the Bofanda enterprise in March 2006.
