DUSHANBE, May 28, Asia-Plus — Head office of open joint-stock company (OJSC) AgroInvestBonk in Dushanbe says the company tops nine Tajik commercial banks in rates of increase of profit and assets. 

The source at the AgroInvestBonk headquarters in Dushanbe said that AgroInvestBonk’s own capital rose 1.3 times to May 1, 2007, reaching 63.1 million somonis (equivalent to more than $18.3 million).  As of May 1, 2007, the bank’s own capital amounted to 46 million somonis (equivalent to some $13.4 million).   

“Over the first four months of the year, a clear profit of the bank has risen by 62.4 percent and amounted to 6.088 million somonis (more than $1.77 million),” the source said that in the same period of 2006, the bank’s clear profit amounted 2.287 million somonis ($664,941).  

AgroInvestBonk stands second place in Tajikistan in the volume of capital, following OryonBonk, according to the source.   

Founded in 1992, AgroInvestBonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 57 other branches across the republic.
