Additional security measures introduced in Dushanbe in connection with the 5th CICA summit

Additional security measures have been introduced in Dushanbe in connection with the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).  Law enforcement officers from the regions have been deployed to the Tajik capital.

Servicemen of Tajikistan’s power-wielding and law enforcement structures have been put on alert in connection with the 5th CICA summit, an official source in the Interior Ministry told Asia-Plus in an interview.   

Additional security measures have reportedly been introduced in Dushanbe and law enforcement officers from the regions have been deployed to the capital city.

“From today and until June 16, heightened police squads will patrol public places, streets, parks a well as government and parliament quarters,” the source said.
