On Monday December 23, Tajik President Emomali had a telephone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Rahmon and Tokayev reportedly discussed state and prospects of further expansion of strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
They also exchanged view on a number of regional and international issues being of mutual interests and expressed readiness for further trustful interstate dialogue across the entire spectrum of cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited Emomali Rahmon to pay official visit to Kazakhstan at any time convenient for him, the Tajik president’s official website said.
Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have traditional friendly relations based on mutual respect and trust. They have no disagreements in political and economic spheres.
Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were established on January 7, 1993. Tajik-Kazakh relations have been developing under an agreement on strategic partnership, which was signed during the official visit of then-President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Tajikistan in September 2015. The legal foundation of bilateral cooperation between the two countries includes more than 80 documents.
