Tajiks living abroad can cast ballots at polling stations set up at Tajikistan’s diplomatic missions

Thirty-nine polling stations will be set up outside Tajikistan so that Tajik nationals living abroad could vote for the candidate for parliament.

Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER), Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda, held a meeting today.

The CCER members, in particular, discussed the issue of setting up polling stations in thirty countries of the world, where Tajikistan’s diplomatic missions and consulates function.

Ballots cast abroad will be included in a final protocol of single-mandate constituency No 3 set up in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district.

Parliamentary elections will take place in Tajikistan on March 1, 2020.  The Majlisi Namoyandagon has 63 members, elected for a five-year term in, 22 by proportional representation (party list) and 41 in single-seat constituencies.
