A draft water code, which has been worked out by the government of Tajikistan, will combine the previously adopted laws related to water and the usage of water in the country.
The draft water code is currently being discussed by members of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, an official source within the Majlisi Namoyandagon told Asia-Plus in an interview.
The water code will replace the previously adopted laws related to the usage of water and activities of water users in Tajikistan.
The code, which reportedly provides compliance of Tajikistan’s national legislation with rules of international law, which are officially recognized by Tajikistan, will govern the usage of water resources in the country.
