All clothing markets located in Dushanbe are closing down for ten days beginning on April 30. The authorities say the clothing markets close down for disinfection from April 30 to May 10.
According to the Dushanbe Administration, such a decision has been made to protect population health and prevent the spread of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
“To protect population health and prevent the spread of COVID-19, cleaning days have been announce in all Dushanbe’s clothing markets, irrespective of their forms of property, from April 30 to May. The clothing markets will not operate during this period,” an official source within the Dushanbe Administration told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Tajikistan has not reported single coronavirus infection yet — prompting suspicions that the authorities are not accurately reporting information about the pandemic in the country.
Despite official statement about the absence of COVID-19 infection the country, all regions of Tajikistan have toughened prevention measures carrying out disinfection operations.
