One more air carrier – FlyUnion Airlines – has been launched in Tajikistan, bringing a number of airlines operating in Tajikistan to four.

The founder and director general of FlyUnion Airlines is Yuri Koltsov, a veteran of Tajik civil aviation Yuri Koltsov.

FlyUnion Airlines is based at airport in Bokhtar, the capital of the Khatlon province.  The company has two planes – the operating aircraft and the reserve aircraft, Mr. Koltsov told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, FlyUnion Airlines will operate flights to the Russian cities St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.

The company will operate regular carriage of passengers, cargo, baggage and mail on these routes, Koltsov added.

FlyUnion Airlines will begin operating flights to the mentioned Russian cities after resumption of air traffic between the two countries.

Currently, there are three air companies operating in Tajikistan: the national air carrier Tajik Air, privately owned Somon Air and Khatlon Air.
