DUSHANBE, November 29, Asia-Plus – Dushanbe municipal waterworks (Dushanbevodokanal of DVK) claims that the city will not be left without water in the case of the possible electricity supplies cutoff.
“Only multi-story residential buildings that are provided with water by small pump stations may possibly be left without water,” said the source, “While other buildings will not have problems with water supply because the large pump stations supplying water to the city will operate in a normal regime.” According to him, they reached an agreement on this subject with Barqi Tojik power holding yesterday.
Rahmatullo Qalandarov, an engineer-in-chief with the Dushanbe heating plant, also said in an interview with Asia-Plus that there will be no any problems in supplying heat to the city. According to him, both boiler-houses in Dushanbe are functioning. “At present we provide with heat some 80 percent of the city,” said Qalandarov, “With coming of cold weather we are ready to increase heat supplies by 10%-20%.”
In the meantime, today, many residential buildings in Dushanbe did not have even cold water.
