Tajikistan’s budget in January-February received more than US$9 million less than it was planned

Over the first two months of this year, Tajikistan’s budget has received more than 9 million U.S. dollars less than it was originally planned due to reduction in non-tax revenues.

Over the reporting period, a total volume of the country’s budget has amounted to some 3.536 billion somonis (equivalent to 313 million U.S. dollars), which was more than 100 million somonis fewer or 97.1 percent of the target, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

An official source at a MoF says the national budget has received more than 100 million somonis less in January-February, first of all, due to reduction in non-tax revenues – income from the use and sale of state property, income from public paid services, and so forth.

Meanwhile, the rate of the collection of the main taxes (value added tax, income tax, excise tax, corporate tax) has increased compared to the last year.  Over the reporting period, the share of taxes in the country’s budget has been some 80 percent.

Recall, revenues of the 2021 budget are projected to be 27.6 billion somonis and expenditures at 28.1 billion somonis.

Tax receipts are expected to stand at 18.8 billion somonis, which is more than 68 percent of the overall volume of the revenues.

Non-tax revenues are expected to stand at some 1.4 billion somonis this year.
