DUSHANBE, October 4, Asia-Plus – Some 900 women have applied to the Crisis Center Bovari (Confidence) in Dushanbe for psychological and legal consultations since the beginning of the year. 

Gulnora Ahrorova, the director of the center, dealing with prevention of violence, said that the number of women applying for help has increased this year. Over the past two years (2004-2005) 1,210 2 women had applied to the center, according to her. 

”Women most apply for help in solving cases of family violence and conflicts, misunderstanding on the part of relatives,’ said Ahrorova, “Some women have applied for psychological consultations. The facility has also assist in preventing many suicide cases, she said.  ”Psychologists from our center weekly provide consultations to patients of the Dushanbe burn-treatment facility,” Ahrorva said.
