DUSHANBE, March 26, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A session of the CIS council of finance ministers will be held in Moscow on March 31.

According to press release issued by the CIS Executive Committee, the session aims to consider issues related to socioeconomic situation of the CIS states, measures taken by them to mitigate effects of the ongoing financial crisis as well as coordinate the CIS states’ position at the G-20 summit that will be held in London on April 2.

Besides, by instruction of the CIS council of heads of government the CIS states have prepared proposals on mitigating effects of the global financial crisis.  The Interstate Currency Committee considered the proposals in December 2008 and then they were considered by the CIS Economic Council, press release said.
