DUSHANBE, September 19, Asia-Plus  — The Ministry of Health has donated lab medical equipment worth 125,000 US dollars to the Institute for Prophylactic Medicine on occasion of its 75

th

anniversary. 

Minister of Health Nusratullo Fayzulloyev handed over the equipment to Farhod Odinayev, the director of the Institute for Prophylactic Medicine at a ceremony of opening of a conference entitled “Topical Issues of Prevention of Diseases” in Dushanbe on September 19.  The conference was held to mark the institute’s jubilee.  

Addressing the conference, the minister noted that the institute marks its jubilee with new successes in research and active training.  Fayzulloyev noted that the institute plays in important role in studying virus infections and environmental protection problems.  As an example of this, the minister termed a joint work of the institute’s researchers and Russian specialists on studying influence of the activity of Tajik Aluminum Plant (TadAZ) on the environment and people’s health.  

The conference focused on environmental protection and hygiene and possible solutions to these problems, as well as the problems of parasitical diseases.
