According to the amendments made the law on savings insurance for individuals, the amount of reimbursement of deposits and savings is set at 35,000 somonis (equivalent to 3,200 US dollars at the official exchange rate on July 5).

The previous the amount of reimbursement of deposits and savings had been equal to not more than 500 calculating indicators in the national currency, the somoni (34,000 somonis) and not more than 350 calculating indicators in the foreign currency (equal to 23,800 somonis).

The source also says the list of obligatory insurance objects has been expanded: deposits and savings accounts of individual entrepreneurs and legal entities, small businesses, as well as non-profit organizations are now also insured.

Prior to this, only the savings of individuals were insured.

In this regard, the law “On Insurance of Savings of Physical Entities” has been renamed “On Insurance of Deposits and Savings” and the Individual Savings Insurance Fund has been renamed the Deposit and Savings Insurance Fund of Tajikistan.
