The Kyzylkala – Bokhtar road section, which is one of the key sections of the Dushanbe–Bokhtar interregional highway, was put into operation at the end of last week, “Asia-Plus” was informed by the Ministry of Transport of the country.
Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim, Chairman of Khatlon region Davlatali Said, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka and Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan Toshihiro Aiki took part in the ceremony of commissioning of the road.

The Ministry of Transport noted that the process of construction and modernization of the Kyzylkala – Bokhtar section began in June 2021.
The Japanese government provided gratuitous financial assistance in the amount of 3.2 yen, which is equivalent to $31 million, for the implementation of the project.
The customer of the project was the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the consultant and general contractor were the Japanese companies CTI Engineering international Co., Ltd. and Dai Nippon Construction, respectively.
The Ministry of Transport noted that on April 24 of this year, President Emomali Rahmon, during a working visit to Khatlon region, got acquainted with the modernization process of this section and highly appreciated the quality of work.
The transport department considers the implementation of this project one of the steps to get the republic out of the communication impasse.
