DUSHANBE, August 17, Asia-Plus – Leaders of member nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) who have gathered in the Russian resort city of Sochi for informal summit, yesterday visited Tajikistan’s agricultural exhibition that opened in Sochi on August 16, an official website of the Russian president reports.  

Tajikistan has put more than 700 tons of its agricultural output, including fruits, vegetables, honey, as well as melons and gourds, on display in the fair in Sochi. 

President Putin expressed gratitude to his Tajik counterpart, President Rahmonov, and Sochi mayor for organization of this event.  “This fair is a good opportunity for those who have the rest in Sochi to taste Tajik fruits,” President Putin said.  

For his part, Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov appreciated all those visiting the fair for attention they paid to Tajik farm produce. 

The fair staged by the Ministry of Agriculture, “Khurokvori” State Unitary Enterprise, the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and “Tojik Matlubot” (Tajik Consumer’s Union) under financial support of the governments of Tajikistan and the Russian region of Krasnodar runs through August 18.  The fair will be held under agreement reached by the presidents of the two countries.
