President Emomali Rahmon began his working visit to the northern province of Sughd on November 14.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Bobojon-Ghafourov district was the first leg of his visit to northern Tajikistan.

Emomali Rahmon inaugurated a State Flag and Emblem square in the center of the district’s administrative center.

The president also unveiled the statue of academician Bobojon Ghafourov and commissioned the building of the Bobojon Ghafourov Museum in the administrative center of Bobojon-Ghafourov district. 

On the same day, Emomali Rahmon reportedly launched a drinking water line in Bobojon-Ghafourov district.

The Tajik president’s official website says the president launched the first stage of the project aimed at rehabilitating and constructing drinking water networks in Zarzamin villages.  With the full implementation of this project, which includes 2 stages, more than 14,000 inhabitants of Zarzamin villages will be provided with safe drinking water.

While in Bobojon-Ghafourov district, the head of state reportedly commissioned a new building of preschool institution No. 14 "Sitorahoi Durakhshon" in Obshoron village.

On November 15, Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening ceremony of an apartment building constructed for public servants and social workers in the city of Guliston.     

On Wednesday, Emomali Rahmon reportedly inaugurated a number of social and economic facilities in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province.   

He, in particular, commissioned a building the State Committee for National Security (SCNS)’s office in Khujand, building materials manufacturing enterprise, glassworks and international medicine center “Marmed” in Khujand.  

The building materials manufacturing enterprise was constructed by the limited liability companies Farovon and Tojsokhtmon.

The construction of the glassworks was reportedly financed by local entrepreneurs Umarkhouja Buzrukoiv and Nouriddin Huseinov.
