The Peninsula reports that the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a session of official talks at Lusail Palace on Monday with President of the friendly Republic of Tajikistan HE Emomali Rahmon.

At the beginning of the session, HH the Amir reportedly welcomed HE the Tajik President and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a good stay and the relations between the two countries further progress and development in different fields to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples. His Highness lauded the level of Qatari-Tajik cooperation, especially in investment sectors and trade exchange.

During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the avenues for supporting and upgrading them in a variety of cooperation fields, especially in economy, energy, trade, investment, and agriculture, in addition to discussing the prominent regional and global developments of common concern, particularly the developments in Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The session was attended by Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, Minister of Labour HE Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, alongside a number of Their Excellencies high-ranking officials.

From the Tajik side, the session was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Assistant to the President of the Republic on Foreign Relations HE Sharifi Azamsho Latifzod, Assistant to the President on Economic Affairs HE Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade HE Zavqi Zavqizoda, Minister of Industry and New Technologies HE Sherali Kabir, Minister of Energy and Water Resources HE Daler Juma, Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population HE Gulnara Hassanzoda, Minister of Culture HE Zulfiya Dvlatzoda, Minister of Finance HE Fayziddin Qahhorzoda, Minister of Agriculture HE Qurbon Hakimzoda, alongside a number of members of the accompanying official delegation.

HH the Amir and HE the Tajik President reportedly held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed several topics of common interest. 

Meanwhile QNA reports that HE President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon left Doha on January 22, following a state visit to the country.

His Excellency and the accompanying delegation were reportedly seen off upon departure from Hamad International Airport by HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi; HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Tajikistan Mubarak bin Abdulrahman Al Nasr; and HE Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Qatar Khusrav Sohibzoda.
