President orders 25 percent rise in wages of military personnel and law enforcement officers

President Emomali Rahmon yesterday signed a decree on measures aimed at strengthening the level of population's social security and increasing the minimum wage, public sector wage, pensions and allowances [scholarships].

With the aim of improving the populations' living standards, raising the role of wages and the level of social security, the head of state decreed that wages of military personnel and law enforcement are raised by 25 percent from January 1, 2022.

Wages of other employees of these agencies will be raised by 20 percent. 

By president’s decree the basic salary for calculating the military rank coefficients is set to be 745.00 somonis for officers from lieutenant and from senior lieutenant to army general.

Besides, by president’s decree wages of employees of other federally funded institutions (public servants, employees of education and research institutions (with the exception of employees of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences and its subordinate institutions), culture, sports, public health, social protection and others) will be raised by 20 percent from July 1, 2022.  

By president’s decree the basic salary for health workers is to be set at 366.00 somonis from July 1, 2022.  

Besides, the rates of allowances for orphaned children and survivor benefits to minors will be raised by 25% of the minimum old-age pension.

The current allowances [scholarships] for students (with the exception of cadets of higher military institutions and the Academy of the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan) are to be raised by 20 percent from July 1, 2022.
