Taliban to send 10,000 troops to Afghanistan’s common border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

Taliban are reportedly going to send 10,000 military personnel to Afghanistan’s common border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Interfax reports that Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, the current Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), stated on Monday (February 14) that 10,000 military personnel will be sent to the provinces border Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

“Armed with modern weapons and equipment of the NATO and the United States, a ten-thousand powerful army deployed in northern and northeast provinces of the country will take measures against any armed action,” Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat was cited as saying.

He reportedly further noted that warplanes would be ready in the shortest possible time and support this powerful force.

The Afghan northern Balkh province borders Uzbekistan and Afghanistan’s northeast provinces of Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan border Tajikistan.

Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, also known as the Conqueror of Panjshir Province, is an Afghan military commander who is the current Chief of Staff of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.  He has been a senior member of the Taliban.
