Wednesday March 9, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Tajik president’s official website says high-ranking representatives of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt warmly and sincerely welcomed Emomali Rahmon at the Cairo International Airport.
As part of the visit, Emomali Rahmon yesterday visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) located in the ancient city of Fustat, now part of Cairo.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is a large museum (490,000 square meters), which displays a collection of 50,000 artefacts, presenting Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day.
The thematic areas are the following: Dawn of Civilization; the Nile; Writing; State and Society; Material Culture; Beliefs and Thinking; and the Gallery of Royal Mummies.
Yesterday, Tajik leader reportedly also visited Gypto pharma and T&C Garments enterprises.

According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Egypt last year valued at US$773,400 (25.5 percent increase compared to 2020). This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Egypt estimated at US$18,000 and Tajikistan’s imports from Egypt worth US$755,400 million.
