DUSAHNBE, June 6, Asia-Plus – Prospects of developing new ways to deliver oil and natural gas to the world market as well as struggle against terrorism and drug spread are the subjects on the agenda of the “Central Asia plus Japan” consultations held in Tokyo today.
The meeting was attended by Kairat Abdrakhmanov, a special envoy of the government of Kazakhstan, Kirghiz Foreign Minister Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov, Tajik Foreign Minister Talbak Nazarov and Uzbek Foreign Minister Elyer Ganiyev. The consultations were conducted by Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso. The Afghan foreign minister was present as a guest.
Turkmenistan had rejected invitations from Japan to send its representative to the forum.
An action plan designed to develop regional cooperation with Japan’s active participation is to be adopted on the results of the consultations.
