First snow expected in Dushanbe this weekend

This weekend, Dushanbe will experience its first snowfall of the season. Most regions of Tajikistan are forecasted to have relatively warm and dry weather on Saturday, followed by rain and snow on Sunday, according to the national Hydrometeorological Center (Hydromet).

In Dushanbe, Saturday will see daytime temperatures of +6°C to +8°C, with nighttime temperatures around 0°C. By Sunday, rain and snow are expected, with daytime temperatures dropping to -1°C to +1°C.

In the districts subordinate to the Center (RRP), Saturday will be relatively warm, reaching up to +9°C during the day, but snowfall is expected in mountainous areas by Sunday.

Sughd province will also experience dry weather on Saturday, with daytime temperatures around +6°C and light frost at night.  By Sunday, precipitation, including rain and snow, is likely in some areas.

The warmest weather on Saturday will be in Khatlon province, with daytime temperatures reaching up to +11°C.  However, Sunday will bring snowfall, especially in the foothills.

In the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), December 7 will be dry, similar to other regions.  Nighttime temperatures will drop to -13°C to -18°C in the western parts and as low as -35°C in the eastern areas.  Daytime temperatures will range from -2 to -13°C.

On December 8, snowfall is possible in the western parts of GBAO, with rain and snow expected in the Darvoz district.  In the eastern areas, the cold will persist, with nighttime lows reaching -40°C and daytime highs around -13°C.
