At the opening of the first IT Park in Tajikistan, held as part of ICT WEEK-2025 in Dushanbe, Dushanbe City Bank has confirmed its status as one of the technological leaders in the country's banking sector, says press release issued by Dushanbe City Bank.

The bank not only participated in this key innovation event but also received well-deserved recognition: it was honored in the category “Best Digital Application for Customer Service” and awarded a certificate for its contribution to the exhibition.

The opening of IT Park marked an important milestone in Tajikistan's digitalization journey: this new innovation cluster offers companies tax incentives, government support, and access to a community of developers, creating favorable conditions for the growth of technology projects.

As part of ICT WEEK, which took place from April 7 to April 10, panel discussions, workshops, and demonstrations of solutions aimed at developing the country's IT industry were organized.

Dushanbe City Bank presented to participants and guests key innovations of its digital wallet DC Next, designed to simplify and secure customers' financial transactions. Among the main developments were:

  • AI Secure – a groundbreaking security feature in the Tajik market, using artificial intelligence.
  • UnionPay Virtual – the introduction of UnionPay virtual cards, which already allow customers to make online purchases on international marketplaces without the need for a physical card.  This is especially important for the younger audience and active e-commerce users.

The bank's participation in ICT WEEK and the opening of IT Park not only demonstrated its readiness to operate at the intersection of finance and high technology but also confirmed its commitment to supporting the state's course towards digital transformation, the press release concludes.

Dushanbe City Bank has been in business since 2007.  It started as a macro credit deposit organization (MDO), with its core business providing.  Today,  Dushanbe City Bank has its own chain of more than 200 credit card terminals and more than 500 ATMs, or automated teller machines, across the country.  The bank is now aiming for leadership in digital banking that responds to all of th current challenges.    

Digital banking is part of the broader context for the move to online banking, where banking services are delivered over the internet.  The shift from traditional to digital banking has been gradual, remains ongoing, and is constituted by differing degrees of banking service digitization. Digital banking involves high levels of process automation and web-based services and may include Application Programing Interfaces (APIs) enabling cross-institutional service composition to deliver banking products and provide transactions. It provides the ability for users to access financial data through desktop, mobile and ATM services
