Microcredit deposit organization IMON International has announced the appointment of Giorgio Parola as Chairman of the Management Board.  Mr. Parola is recognized as one of the leading international experts in microfinance and sustainable financial development.

His appointment marks a new strategic chapter for IMON International. Under Parola’s leadership, the organization aims to accelerate its digital transformation, expand financial inclusion in remote regions, diversify its product offerings for microbusinesses, and enhance both operational efficiency and customer experience.

Giorgio Parola brings over 18 years of experience in the financial sector, covering areas such as microfinance, leasing, strategic management, and international project development.  He has led or served on the supervisory boards of institutions across Italy, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Romania, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, and Kyrgyzstan.

Parola holds a degree in Business Administration from Federico II University in Naples, Italy, and is fluent in Italian, Russian, and English.

“I am proud to join the IMON International team. It’s a strong organization with a powerful mission and remarkable history,” Parola said.  “We have ambitious goals ahead, and I am confident that together we can not only strengthen our market position but also deliver even more modern, accessible, and valuable solutions for our clients.”

IMON International stands on a solid foundation and looks to the future with confidence.  The organization will continue progressing toward becoming a digital bank while preserving its core values: proximity to people, sustainability, trust, and service quality.

IMON International is a deposit-taking microfinance institution (MFI) offering individual and solidarity group loans to micro-entrepreneurs in urban and rural Tajikistan.    The organization started out in 1999 as a small micro-lending program initiated by the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan.  Over the years, the program has evolved into a leading deposit-taking MFI which is about to become a commercial bank.  In 2013, IMON obtained a deposit-taking license and launched deposit-taking operations.

IMON International is one of the leading MFIs in Tajikistan in terms of loan portfolio, client base and coverage, as well as financial and social performance.  Since 2005 it has been a partner of the European bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
