Multinational peacekeeping exercises under the banner “Indestructible Brotherhood 2025” will be held at the Fakhrobod training ground in Tajikistan’s Khatlon Province, starting October 20. The joint military drills involve service members from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states.

According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), the upcoming drills will be accompanied by two additional large-scale exercises: “Barrier 2025”, focusing on radiation, chemical, and biological defense as well as military medical support, and “Counterterrorism Commonwealth 2025”, which will engage counterterrorism agencies from across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

An official source within a MoD says military personnel from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia are participating in the joint CSTO exercises.

Troops from Kyrgyzstan and Belarus have already arrived in Tajikistan, while Russian and Kazakh forces are expected by October 19.

“To ensure the effective organization and execution of these high-level military exercises, the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan has provided all necessary infrastructure and conditions at the Fakhrobod training ground for officers and soldiers from CSTO countries,” the source stated.

The drills are part of the CSTO’s approved 2025 training schedule. Last year’s “Indestructible Brotherhood 2024” exercises were hosted by Kazakhstan.

In a similar operation in 2024, the “Rubezh 2024” (Frontier 2024) joint military drills took place at the Harbmaidon training ground in Khatlon Province, involving over 1,500 troops from CSTO member nations.

The CSTO is a regional military alliance comprising Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.  It aims to coordinate defense policies and joint responses to regional threats.
