DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus  — Last visit of Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov to Iran is of great historic significance, Iranian President Nasser Sarmad-Parsa announced Friday [February 10] at a news conference in Dushanbe that was dedicated to the 27

th

anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

According to him, this visit has removed from the order of the day the issue that new authorities of Iran allegedly do not show attention to other countries, including Tajikistan.  He noted that Iran attached a great significance to cooperation with Tajikistan.  “If in relationships with other countries we act on the basis of that or this agreement, in relationships with Tajikistan we strive for making our cooperation closer,” Sarmad-Parsa said.

Dwelling on concrete examples of such cooperation, Iranian diplomat stressed that the construction of the Anzob tunnel would be finished by the time fixed, adding that the issue of a work of decoration has not yet been resolved.  “If the work of decoration is placed on the Iranian side, our specialist will be able to finish it within two or three months,” Iranian ambassador said.

Speaking about other results of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Mr. Sarmad-Parsa noted that Iran had funded opening of 54 training centers for local women, in particular on sewing, in various regions of Tajikistan.  “Besides, we plan to open in total 15 training centers on learning computer and foreign languages in Tajikistan,” said Sarmad-Parsa, “Seven of such centers have already been launched.”

He noted they had also planned to open school, but this work has not yet been finished.  “We continue taking efforts in this direction,” stressed Iranian diplomat, “At first we will open madrasa and later international schools.”

On the cooperation in energy sector, Sarmad-Parsa termed Iran’s efforts to construct Sangtuda-2 hydropower plant in Tajikistan as an example of fruitful cooperation between the two fraternal peoples.
