Kyrgyzstan
has passed a resolution easing citizenship requirements for citizen of
Tajikistan
.
According to information from the Kyrgyz Embassy in
Dushanbe
, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Felix Kulov signed the resolution “On Endorsement of Regulations on Simplified Procedure of Obtaining of Kyrgyz Citizenship by Citizens of Tajikistan” on
April 7 2006
.
The source says the April 7 resolution passed by the Kyrgyz government allows citizens of
Tajikistan
to obtain Kyrgyz citizenship within 30 days.
“The resolution has been passed for the purpose of implementing an agreement between
Kyrgyzstan
and
Tajikistan
on simplified procedure of obtaining citizenship signed in
Dushanbe
in May 2004,” the source said.
