DUSHANBE, April 22, 2009, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday April 22, President Emomali Rahmon received Turkey’s Minister of State, Dr. Mustafa Said Yazıcıoglu, according to presidential press service.
In the course of the talks, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey as well as issues related the forthcoming visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Tajikistan.
Tajik leader expressed satisfaction with current level of cooperation between the two countries in the different fields and noted that there was considerable room for expansion of economic ties.
The two expressed confidence that the forthcoming of Turkish president to Tajikistan would give a new impulse to further expansion of mutually bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey. Rahmon and Yazıcıoglu also agreed that it was necessary to intensify work of the Tajik-Turkish for economic and trade cooperation and the Tajik-Turkish business council.
They also noted that construction of hydropower facilities, highways and railroads, launch of joint ventures and development of tourism in Tajikistan would provide benefits to both countries, the press service said.
